The Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRsp), created May 2007, is an organic unit of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, being one of the 3 centres rated with "Excellent" by the Foundation for Science and Technology in Mechanical Engineer.

The main goal of the Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development is to contribute to the scientific and technological development, leading to new products, more eficient and effective materials and processes, contributing to the generation of added value to the industry and increase of society awareness of the importance of sustained and rapid product development. To fulfill its mission, the center conducts research and promotes scientific and technological dissemination activities, training and consulting in strategic areas of development.
